The Design Services Checker role is focused on ensuring all Company drawings are produced to a high-quality while providing mentor support with respect to drawing configuration and content. Responsibilities
Key Job Elements
•Leverage GD&T principles to verify tolerance stack-up in order to optimize design in both individual components and complex assemblies.
•Ensure that new design package submissions are complete and consistent with company and ASME standards.
•Ensure that design package revisions are in accordance with the Change Request (CR).
•Verify the correct application of the model and drawing attributes using the Teamcenter database.
•Facilitate the definition and collection of quality metrics.
•Apply the knowledge of military drawing practices including MIL-STD-100 and related ASME Y14 series standards.
•Work within Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter Visualization software, ensuring effective application in professional environments.
•Perform daily work activities using defense, and/or mobile equipment standards (e.g. Military Specifications, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards, SAE International, Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and others as appropriate).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
•University Degree or College Diploma in an Electrical or Mechanical field
•Minimum 5 years relevant experience modelling and drafting using NX CAD software
•Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to communicate fairly complex information
•Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Summary
Preferred Qualifications
•5+ years mechanical design utilizing CAD tools in a related industry
•Knowledge of military drawing practices including MIL-STD-100 and related ASME Y14 series standards
•Strong knowledge of the application and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from piece parts to complex assemblies as well as extensive knowledge of military drawing practices including MIL-STD-100 and the ASME Y14 series of standards
•OACETT certified Mechanical Technologist or Technician (CET) with specialty in mobile equipment
