In this dynamic Director, Business Operations position, you will play a critical operational leadership role supporting regional investment teams across Canada, the United States, and Asia. Operating within a sustainably run platform encompassing over 90 million square feet across 500+ properties valued at over $25 billion CAD, you will be accountable for developing, managing, and executing global business operational policies, compliance, risk management programs, contract oversight, and business continuity strategies.

-Contract Duration: 12-month contract (December 15, 2026 – December 14, 2027) with strong possibility of extension or permanent conversion based on business performance.

Responsibilities
-Policy & Operations Management: Develop, own, and implement operational policies, procurement standards, leasing playbooks, and central policy refresh inventories across the platform.
-Asset & Venture Onboarding: Lead and execute operational onboarding/offboarding processes for real estate investments, new ventures, and funds, including the creation of fund operational playbooks.
-Compliance & Risk Program Administration: Direct business unit compliance, privacy assessments, and anti-money laundering (AML/ATF) program requirements in alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards.
-Audit & Oversight: Act as the lead coordinator for internal and external audits across the platform; manage third-party oversight programs (e.g., broker scorecards and tenant engagement surveys).
-Contract & Vendor Management: Oversee the centralized contracting lifecycle, vendor relationships, procurement compliance, invoice approval workflows, and contract renewal tracking.
-Business Continuity Planning: Serve as the business unit owner for the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), conducting risk mitigation, critical process reviews, and team readiness training.
Qualifications
Must Haves
-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate Management.
-Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional business operations/management experience, including at least 5 years within the investment management or commercial real estate industry.
-Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of real estate investment, asset management, accounting, and operational administration concepts.
-Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with institutional real estate accounting systems.
-Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical, risk assessment, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives under tight deadlines.
Nice to Haves
-Software Experience: Direct proficiency with real estate platforms such as Yardi, VTS, or Anaplan.
-Fund Operations: Specific background or operational setup experience working directly with real estate investment funds and joint ventures.
