Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Oversee all aspects of materials management across multiple sites, aligning supply chain operations with organizational goals and clinical priorities.
Operational Excellence: Drive short- and long-term plans for process improvement, workflow optimization, and quality initiatives.
Financial Oversight: Manage an annual departmental operating budget, ensuring fiscal accountability and sustainability.
Team Management: Provide leadership to 4 direct reports (FTEs) and a broader team of unionized and non-unionized staff; manage recruitment, performance coaching, and labor relations.
Inventory & Risk Management: Lead annual physical inventory counts for medical/surgical SKUs and maintain the integrity of receiving systems.
Emergency Preparedness: Act as the supply chain lead for pandemic stockpiles and PPE management, collaborating with IPAC and Emergency Preparedness teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with internal clinical departments and external vendors to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) is considered a strong asset.
Professional Designation: Possession of one or more industry certifications is required (e.g., SCMP, CPIM, CSCP, CSCL, or P.Log).
Experience: 10–15 years of progressive experience in materials management and supply chain operations, preferably within a complex healthcare or public-sector environment.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams and navigating labor management/unionized environments.
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of inventory systems, quality improvement methodologies, and financial reporting.
