Responsibilities
- Driver & Trip Management: Assess and support all driver inquiries. Provide necessary trip information and tools, including trip sheets, access codes, trip numbers, and tractor keys.
- Monitoring & Tracking: Utilize logistics software (Back Office and XRS) to actively track and monitor all driver activity and progress.
- Operational Updates: Ensure Trip Sheets are accurately completed and A1 live updates are processed, progressing trips as required. Support senior planner and account coordinator requests by completing all daily add-ons.
- Customer Communication: Handle evening Customer Service Representative (CSR) duties, responding to all customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Logistics Coordination: Maintain effective, streamlined communication with drivers, customers, and other departments to respond to challenges like traffic or weather disruptions and ensure on-time deliveries.
Qualifications
-Experience: 6 months to 1 year of freight dispatching experience is required.
-Local Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the City of Edmonton (major routes, areas, and traffic patterns) is highly valued.
-Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
-Capable verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Proven experience in handling multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
-Quick learner with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
-Work Environment: Ability to manage high-volume calls and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
-Preference: Previous dispatch experience with a large carrier or high-volume transportation operation is preferred.
