Dispatcher

In this role, you will be the central point of contact connecting field operations, specialized drivers, and valued clients across Western Canada. Working alongside a highly experienced Lead Dispatcher and a supportive management team, you will manage daily routes and schedules for boom trucks, heavy haul units, and mobile cranes.

Location: Edmonton, AB (On-site)
Pay: $30.00 – $40.00/hr
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities
Dispatch & Fleet Coordination: Schedule and coordinate daily workload dispatches for Class 1 & 3 Drivers, Boom Truck/Crane Operators, Swampers, and Riggers.

Order & Job Setup: Gather complete job details, site requirements, JSAs, lift plans, and PO numbers when taking customer requests.

Permitting & Subcontracting: Arrange over-dimensional permits, pilot cars, hotels, and sub-contractors for specialized loads.

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor operator logbooks and driving hours to ensure ongoing adherence to provincial/federal regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) rules.

Clear Communication: Provide professional, timely updates between field staff, shop maintenance, management, and clients to keep projects running smoothly.

Job Costing Support: Proactively notify clients of scope changes, assist with job quotes, verify Bills of Lading (BOLs), and coordinate billing details.

Qualifications
Industry Experience: 3+ years of dispatch experience in heavy haul, specialized transport, trucking, or mobile crane services. ( Boom Truck / Crane Operators looking to transition into an office role are warmly encouraged to apply!)

Equipment & Rules Knowledge: Familiarity with boom trucks, heavy haul trailer capacities, Hours of Service (HOS), and over-dimensional permitting.

Technical Skills: Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word) and transport dispatch software (Axo/Exo experience is an asset).

Work Style: Solution-oriented mindset, strong organizational skills, and a positive, collaborative approach to teamwork.

Pre-Employment Screening: Ability to pass a standard Criminal Record Check and Drug & Alcohol screening (including cannabis threshold).
