Our client, a company specialized in industrial automation based in Montreal, is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their project team. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing electrical panels for automated systems serving a diverse industrial clientele. The candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and commissioning teams to deliver reliable and tailored technical solutions. The ideal candidate has proven experience in designing industrial electrical panels, a strong knowledge of applicable Canadian standards, and proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN software. Attention to detail, autonomy, analytical skills, and teamwork abilities are essential for success in this role.
Location: Montreal (Ville St-Laurent), QC
Status: Permanent – Full-time
Salary: Starting at $70,000, depending on experience
Schedule: Day shift
Important: Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and already reside in the province of Quebec.

Responsibilities
• Develop electrical schematics for control panels and automation systems in compliance with applicable standards
• Select electrical components and ensure their compliance
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure the technical feasibility of designs
• Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, and data sheets
• Provide technical support during assembly and commissioning
• Participate in design reviews, documentation validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
• Degree in Industrial Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing electrical panels in an industrial environment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (required), knowledge of EPLAN (an asset)
• Good understanding of Canadian electrical standards (CSA, CEC)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Fluent in French; functional English for technical reading
