Responsibilities
-Budget & Cost Forecasting: Build precise cost projections for large-scale, complex initiatives locally and on a national scale across Canada.
-Scope & Blueprint Analysis: Evaluate client schematics and technical specifications to build a clear understanding of the project, establishing the construction strategy that will anchor the bid.
-Material Take-Offs: Analyze engineering designs and project parameters to accurately quantify required materials and installation metrics.
-Contract & Legal Review: Audit incoming tender documents and contract templates, liaising with internal legal teams to safeguard company interests.
-Interface seamlessly with procurement, scheduling, project planning, and proposal development units to align bidding strategies.
-Stakeholder Relations: Nurture high-trust, professional connections with sub-trades, vendors, field consultants, and client representatives.
Qualifications
-Background: Post-secondary credential in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent track record in specialized electrical cost estimation.
-Professional Experience: A solid foundation (typically 5 or more years) managing complex electrical estimates for large-scale, high-value projects.
-Industry Familiarity: A strong handle on the Canadian construction landscape, market rates, and regional bidding trends.
-Sector Expertise: Prior exposure to heavy industrial sectors—such as hydro power, mining, oil and gas, or heavy processing plants—is highly valued.
-Technical Toolkit: Strong command of standard office productivity suites alongside digital takeoff tools like Bluebeam or equivalent estimating software.
-Adaptability: Willingness to travel periodically for on-site reviews, field walks, and face-to-face client brief sessions.
