At our facility in Ashland, VA you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Packaging team as the Utilities Manager:
- Lead and manage 20–25 employees in the Utilities Department, including Boiler Operations, Wastewater Treatment, and Landfill Operations
- Ensure environmental compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including working with state agencies such as DEP and VDEQ, and managing Title V air permitting requirements
- Own the environmental calendar and oversee reporting, permit renewals, and inspections
- Maintain accurate documentation and databases for compliance and environmental performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support investment projects
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence
- Contribute to emergency response planning, spill management, and insurance compliance
- Recommend equipment upgrades and process optimizations (add about preventative maintenance)

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance or a related industry
- Extensive experience managing powerhouse and/or effluent treatment operations
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance programs
- Familiarity with air emissions, water pollution control, hazardous materials, and waste management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to influence and gain buy-in for proposed solutions
