Responsibilities
◾Cost Analysis: Execute precise quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials across diverse project phases.
◾Bid Management: Oversee the full tender process, including coordinating addenda, managing RFIs, and ensuring final submissions are comprehensive and timely.
◾Vendor Relations: Solicit and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, performing deep-dive scope comparisons to ensure total coverage.
◾Risk Mitigation: Scrutinize drawings and specifications to identify potential roadblocks, incorporating necessary contingencies and value engineering solutions.
◾Team Synergy: Partner with Preconstruction and Project Management teams to align estimates with field execution strategies and participate in post-project reviews.
Qualifications
◾Educational Background: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural Technology.
◾Industry Expertise: A minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience specifically within a general contracting firm, focusing on commercial or industrial sectors.
◾Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and industry-standard take-off/estimating software; familiarity with CCDC contracts and platforms like Fieldwire is preferred.
◾Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and strong negotiation capabilities.
