In this versatile Facilities and Fleet Assistant position, you will act as a true jack-of-all-trades within our client's skilled trades division. Working directly alongside the Facilities Lead and reporting to executive leadership, you will oversee essential daily facility maintenance, assist with fleet vehicle transports, manage seasonal outdoor upkeep, and maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards. From performing routine building repairs—such as drywall patching, painting, light plumbing, and carpet tile replacement—to executing critical seasonal groundskeeping like early morning winter snow removal using heavy equipment, your contributions will directly ensure operational excellence and safety across high-value environments.

Responsibilities
• Execute daily facility inspections and routine groundskeeping, including parking lot checks, litter removal, and seasonal tasks such as winter snow clearing using heavy equipment before morning operations.
• Perform general interior and exterior maintenance and repairs involving basic carpentry, drywall patching, painting, carpet replacement, and minor plumbing.
• Assist with fleet vehicle and ground service equipment transportation, including running errands, delivering parts, and hauling bottle recycling to depot centers.
• Support shipping, receiving, and inventory control for facilities consumables, commissary supplies, fluids, and building maintenance materials.
• Maintain and monitor facility safety equipment, hangar spill kits, watering systems, and propane storage levels.
• Supervise third-party contractors and service personnel on-site, serving as an operational liaison and escalating major maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.
• Complete minimal administrative reporting, electronic timesheets, and basic communications via Microsoft Office applications and company-issued mobile devices.
• File voluntary safety hazard reports through the internal Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (Q-HSSE) tracking system to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma required; relevant vocational training, AEC/DEP, or Skilled Trade Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general facility maintenance, fleet assistance, warehouse operations, or related skilled trades fields.
• Heavy equipment operator certificate or endorsement required for winter snow clearing operations.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract (minimum 25 years of age to satisfy corporate vehicle insurance requirements).
• Mandatory CSA-approved steel-toe or composite-toe safety boots.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive police criminal background check to secure a Transport Canada / RAIC security pass.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor (lifting, bending, equipment operation).
• Active certifications in WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid/CPR, or TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) are strong assets.
