Responsibilities
•Cash Flow Forecasting: Gather and analyze daily CAD and USD cash flow information from various internal sources to project accurate closing balances.
•Market Trading: Invest and fund the Bank’s CAD and USD accounts by trading in the end-of-day interbank market.
•Liquidity Management: Monitor and explain Intraday Liquidity usage and "Start of Day" positions to ensure operational efficiency.
•Collateral Oversight: Ensure sufficient collateral levels are maintained to settle large, critical payment obligations.
•Investigation & Reconciliation: Investigate unexpected changes in cash balances to reconcile settlement positions with the Bank of Canada.
•Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a bridge between Cash Management, Intraday Liquidity, and Payment Teams to optimize real-time cash management and enhance system capabilities.
•Industry Engagement: Represent the team in industry forums and committees as required.
Qualifications
•Education: Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, Risk, or a related field.
•Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in Finance, Treasury, or Payments. (Strong new graduates with relevant internship experience or an accounting background may be considered).
•Analytical Skills: 3+ years of experience in trend analysis and advanced analytical thinking to navigate complex financial products.
•Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Knowledge of AI tools is considered a strong asset.
•Soft Skills: * Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight daily deadlines.
oSuperior verbal and written communication skills.
oAbility to manage interactions with strong personalities and diverse internal/external stakeholders.
