Responsibilities
External Reporting: Assist in the drafting of quarterly MD&A and financial footnote disclosures for U.S. Bank subsidiaries. This includes reviewing comparable information from parent company filings (MS 10-Q/K) and peer company filings to ensure consistency and completeness.
Financial Statement Compilation: Help compile the statement of cash flows for U.S. Bank subsidiaries by working with various data providers and internal teams.
GAAP Compliance & Analysis: Support the team in ensuring the accuracy of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting by researching and documenting variance drivers and key account movements.
Controls & Governance: Participate in the review of the current framework for due diligence, governance, and attestation. Help establish new controls where needed to strengthen the reporting process.
General Ledger & Month-End Close: Provide assistance with general ledger processes and the monthly close cycle, offering support as required to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
Process Improvement: Assist the team in various improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and enhancing reporting quality.
Strategic Support: Help the team meet directives from senior management by providing timely and accurate financial information and analysis.
Technology & Automation: Support initiatives to automate and improve financial reporting processes using technologies like SAP and Alteryx.
Qualifications
Experience: Direct experience in financial reporting, external reporting, or a related field within the financial services industry is preferred. Experience with an external accounting or audit firm is a strong asset.
Skills: Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of financial statements and GAAP. Familiarity with SAP, Alteryx, or similar systems is highly desirable.
Work Style: A proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
