You won’t just be crunching numbers; you’ll be an investigator. You will conduct global outreach for Nostro account inquiries, delving into debits and credits to resolve discrepancies. From preparing GL entries to supporting Wholesale Banknote daily funding analysis, this role offers a comprehensive view of global banking operations.
Contract Duration: This is a 5-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension or permanent conversion based on performance and business needs.
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite).
Shift: Early bird schedule from 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, allowing you to wrap up your workday while the afternoon is still young!

Responsibilities
In your role as Operations Analyst, your day-to-day will involve:
• Complex Reconciliation: Reconciling Canada Branch Nostro accounts, aging transactions, and certifying account balances.
• Financial Reporting: Preparing Swift messages, funding reports, and daily/monthly financial summaries, including ad-hoc requests.
• Problem Resolution: Researching and providing high-level resolution for issues identified within the business unit.
• Process Improvement: Building new procedures, completing non-routine analytics, and reviewing exception testing to optimize the operations environment.
• Documentation: Creating desktop job aids and writing clear, concise procedures to ensure team-wide consistency.
• Project Support: Assisting with projects and initiatives, including requirement discussions, testing execution, and deployment activities.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
• 3 to 5 years of experience within an Operations environment at a financial institution.
• Reliability: Punctuality and consistent attendance are non-negotiable for this time-sensitive shift.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Excel (v-lookups, basic formulas), MS Word, and fast/accurate keyboarding.
• Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to identify the root cause of process failures or errors.
• Communication: Top-tier verbal and written communication skills for global outreach and internal reporting.
• Education: Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to Haves:
• Knowledge of Canadian clearing systems and rules (Payments Canada).
• Experience with Visio for process mapping.
• Background in Regulatory Reporting and Operational Risk/Business Controls.
• Experience in Process Design and Development.
