In this role, you will be responsible for processing mutual fund trades, reconciling transaction discrepancies, managing FundSERV workflows, and supporting daily financial recordkeeping. You will work within a collaborative, close-knit team of 20 professionals in a high-risk compliance environment that values accuracy, analytical thinking, and clear communication.
Duration: 12 months
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, Monday–Thursday)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $31.29 / hour

Responsibilities
Trade & Settlement Processing: Process daily mutual fund trades, execute FundSERV transactions, and monitor money movements accurately and within regulatory timelines.
Reconciliation & Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate, track, and resolve transaction breaks, accounting entries, and operational discrepancies across internal and external systems.
Process Automation: Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions—including macros, complex formulas, and pivot tables—to maintain operational files, streamline reporting, and improve daily workflows.
Financial Recordkeeping & Compliance: Examine accounting records and financial activity to ensure full compliance with operational standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Support: Handle daily inquiries over the phone and via email with internal business partners, providing timely and professional operational support.
Team Collaboration: Active participation in 15-minute daily operational huddles to align on daily metrics, volume spikes, and priorities.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business discipline.
Industry Experience: 2 to 3 years of recent experience within Banking, Financial Services, or Mutual Fund Operations.
Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to build/edit spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, and run/modify macros).
Software Savvy: Strong command of Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel) and demonstrated ability to pick up proprietary internal banking systems quickly.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with comfort handling phone-based operational inquiries.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data entry and reconciliation within a high-risk, compliance-driven environment.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Prior hands-on experience with Trade Settlements or FundSERV processing.
Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designation or actively pursuing.
Candidate Profile & Selection Criteria
Stability: Strong preference for candidates with stable work histories (no history of job hopping or unexplained short-term contracts).
Mindset: Proactive problem solver, quick learner, adaptable to changing operational priorities, and a collaborative team player.
