Responsibilities
Margin Fulfillment & Collateral Operations
Validate, issue, and execute end-to-end variation and initial margin calls in a timely manner.
Ensure agreement and prompt transfer of eligible credit support within specified timeframes under CSA agreement terms.
Manage non-cash collateral inventory positions to maintain sufficient coverage for daily margin requirements.
Instruct and approve collateral movements via SWIFT, email, and fax protocols.
Perform intra-day cash forecasting and execute portfolio/collateral reconciliations with counterparties.
Escalate operational issues promptly according to risk policies and standing orders.
Operational Controls & Systems Support
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and integration initiatives.
Onboard new and existing counterparties for applications and services tied to collateral management processes.
Maintain high data accuracy across collateral management databases and operational records.
Draft and update standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation.
Assist in preparing margin requirement, liquidity/funding, and ad-hoc operational reports.
Administration & Team Support
Respond to internal and external audit inquiries.
Provide team cross-coverage during peer absences and vacation periods.
Qualifications
Must Have:
Industry Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience within the financial services industry, ideally in Capital Markets or Derivatives Operations.
Product Knowledge: Solid understanding of derivative products, trade capture systems, and related legal documentation (ISDA / CSA).
Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced MS Excel skills.
Risk Frameworks: Working knowledge of institutional risk policies and standing orders.
Education & Designations
Required: Post-secondary undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have:
Preferred: Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a strong asset.
