Our client, a leader in the heavy truck body manufacturing and municipal maintenance equipment industry, is looking for two skilled Fitter Welders for their SE Calgary facility. This is an exciting opportunity for well-rounded tradespeople who thrive in an open-concept shop environment building high-quality equipment like snow plows.
As a Fitter Welder, you will work out of one of 8 modern workstations, collaborating closely with the Lead Hand and Shop Foreman to pull, fit, and weld components with precision.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Calgary, AB (SE)
Schedule: 5x10 Monday to Friday 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (2 hours of guaranteed OT per day!)
Environment: Manufacturing - Heavy Truck On Road Equipment
Wage: $35.00+ per hour (Based on experience, with OT paid after 8 hours daily)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
- Fitting & Assembly: Executing bolt-up, fit-up, and layout duties for heavy truck bodies and snow plows.
- Welding Excellence: Performing high-quality structural welding utilizing primarily Flux-Cored (FCAW) and MIG processes.
- Material Handling: Safely pulling, positioning, and rigging heavy components and materials into place.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Lead Hand, Shop Foreman, and a tight-knit team of Journeyman welders.
- Safety & Detail: Maintaining a clean workstation and adhering to all shop safety protocols while utilizing basic hand tools and grinders.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Certification: Valid Journeyman Welder Certificate or current CWB Certification.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in blueprint reading, fitting, bolt-up, and Dual Shield/Flux-Core welding.
- Experience: Previous experience in heavy manufacturing, custom fabrication, or truck body modification is a major asset.
- Equipment: Must possess and bring your own basic hand tools and grinder.
