Responsibilities
-Operate forklifts to safely load, unload, and transport building materials throughout the yard and warehouse.
-Use a chainsaw and other hand tools to cut lumber and materials according to customer specifications.
-Pick, stage, bundle, and secure lumber, plywood, siding, and other materials for storage or shipment.
-Ensure orders are accurately prepared based on work orders or customer invoices.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard.
-Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and material organization.
-Inspect materials and equipment, reporting any damage or maintenance concerns promptly.
-Follow all health and safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment.
Qualifications
-Previous forklift operating experience (certification is considered an asset).
-Experience using a chainsaw safely in a work environment.
-Experience working in a lumber yard, building supply, warehouse, or construction environment is preferred.
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
-Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
