Responsibilities
Transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, electric pallet jack, hand truck).
Verify shipping documentation against freight descriptions and types.
Load and secure freight according to safety and loading protocols using appropriate tools.
Inspect, recoup, and repair damaged freight as necessary.
Follow all safety, TDG, and WHMIS procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Perform routine housekeeping duties inside and outside the facility.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent (international diploma checks may apply).
Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, cross-dock, or forklift operation.
Must possess a valid forklift certificate or be able to obtain one during the probationary period.
Ability to lift and move freight of varying weights (e.g., dock plates up to 100 lbs, trailer doors requiring up to 75 lbs of lift force).
Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull heavy items throughout the shift.
Basic computer skills and basic math proficiency.
