Our client is a fast-growing, Series A-backed AI-native energy management company serving commercial and industrial facilities across Canada and the United States. Their platform helps some of the largest energy users in North America monitor, predict, and optimize their energy consumption in real time — and they're scaling fast, with plans to double the team over the next 18 months as they enter new US markets.
...
This is a rare mandate: build a demand generation machine from the ground up, and own it. Right now, pipeline is almost entirely rep-sourced and event-driven — there's no systematic outbound, no ABM, no lead scoring, no nurture infrastructure. The company has made a deliberate bet: instead of building a traditional marketing department, they want one highly capable, AI-native operator to run what used to take a team of four. You'll report directly to the CEO and be accountable for sourcing at least 20% of new-logo pipeline within 12 months — measured in pipeline dollars, not activity metrics.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who builds first and delegates later. If you're looking to strategize and manage, this isn't it. If you want to architect and run a full GTM engine at a company doing genuinely impactful work in clean energy — this is exactly that.
The ideal candidate combines strong energy market domain knowledge with modern demand gen execution skills and real, daily AI tool usage. You understand how commercial and industrial energy buyers think, and you know how to build the systems that get in front of them at scale.
If you're interested, please send your resume to kyle.chan@randstaddigital.com
Advantages
Competitive base salary ($150,000–$180,000 CAD) with placement in the band tied to demonstrated AI-native workflow depth, plus up to 20% quarterly variable tied to pipeline performance.
Equity with a 4-year vest and 1-year cliff.
A quarterly experiment budget you control — run your own channel tests without asking for approval on every spend.
Hybrid work with an onsite gym, comprehensive benefits (health, vision, dental), and personal days.
Direct line to the CEO and a mandate with real scope — the kind of role where what you build is visible across the whole company.
Responsibilities
Rebuild the company's HubSpot instance from scratch — contacts, lists, campaigns, lifecycle stages, lead scoring, attribution, and CMS — turning it from a system of record into an actual growth engine.
Redesign the company website to function as a lead generation tool, not a brochure.
Design and execute an ABM motion targeting large commercial and industrial facilities — manufacturing plants, cold storage operators, industrial REITs, and campuses — across Ontario, PJM, and Quebec markets. This includes account selection, data enrichment, multi-channel sequencing, and meeting generation.
Build the outbound infrastructure end-to-end: data sourcing and enrichment using tools like Clay, ZoomInfo, or Apollo, list hygiene, deliverability management, and AI-powered personalization at scale.
Collaborate with the VP of Sales on outbound targeting strategy, ICP refinement, and list management to ensure sales and marketing are working the same accounts.
Produce campaign content at AI speed with human-grade quality: email sequences, landing pages, one-pagers, case studies, and collateral — you own the editing pass that catches the technical errors before anything ships.
Turn existing door-opener tools (interactive calculators, ROI tools) into landing pages and inbound sequences that generate meetings, not just traffic.
Run paid and organic channel experiments with a defined test budget and a clear kill discipline — channels that don't produce pipeline in two quarters get cut.
Systematize events into a repeatable pipeline input: pre-event ABM targeting, in-event lead capture, automated post-event follow-up sequences, and a pipeline P&L for every event attended.
Own lead routing and ensure qualified leads reach the right regional sales rep within a 48-hour SLA.
Present at the weekly business review: marketing-sourced pipeline, meetings generated, stage conversion rates, and cost per opportunity.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience in energy markets, demand response, or a related area of the electricity sector — you understand how commercial and industrial energy buyers operate, and you know what IESO demand response programs actually are.
Working knowledge of the IESO market and how DR resources participate and settle.
Proven, hands-on experience building HubSpot GTM workflows — you architect the system yourself, you don't hire consultants to do it.
Practical experience with outbound enrichment and sequencing tools such as Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo, or equivalent — and the ability to build and manage campaigns in them without hand-holding.
Genuine, daily AI tool usage for content production, workflow automation, and campaign personalization — this is how you scale output alone.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with Excel and interval meter data — attribution, funnel reporting, and pipeline metrics are core to this role.
A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate directly with customers and prospects.
Preferred
Electrical engineering or power systems background.
Familiarity with AESO, PJM, or NYISO market rules and DR product structures beyond IESO.
Experience working with utility or LDC-sponsored demand response programs.
SQL, Python, or BI tool experience for reporting automation.
