We are recruiting On-Site Hardware & Desktop Support Specialists to join a major federal department’s IT operations group in downtown Ottawa. You will provide direct, hands-on hardware installations, physical desktop setups, and technical problem resolution for internal public service employees.

Responsibilities
- Perform physical hardware setups, computer imaging, peripherals configuration, and cable management for employee workstations.
- Provide face-to-face desktop and hardware troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and mobile devices.
- Receive, triage, log, and resolve hardware-related tickets within enterprise ITSM platforms (e.g., Cherwell, Remedy, JIRA).
- Escalate complex hardware failures or network drop issues to specialized Tier 2/3 technical teams.
- Assist with hardware asset inventory, device decommissions, and physical equipment redeployments.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Must hold an active Government of Canada Secret Clearance.
- Language Skills: Fluent bilingualism in both English and French (oral and written).
- Hardware Support Experience: Hands-on experience assembling, configuring, and troubleshooting PC hardware, laptops, and peripherals.
- Operating Systems & Software: Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows 10+ environments and MS Office applications.
- Personal Asset Requirement: Must possess a smartphone capable of running Microsoft Authenticator for network access.
- Must be able to work on-site 5 days a week in Downtown Ottawa.
