Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational HR Leadership: You will serve as the primary HR Site Lead for this location, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while managing end-to-end people operations.
Labor Relations Expertise: This role requires a professional with a strong background in unionized environments, specifically managing collective bargaining agreements, grievance resolutions, and maintaining positive labor-management relations.
Comprehensive Talent Management: You will oversee the full talent lifecycle, from high-volume hourly recruitment and salaried hiring to internal learning programs and succession planning—all through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: You will be responsible for ensuring all site operations remain in strict alignment with federal and provincial employment laws, partnering with legal counsel as needed to mitigate organizational risk.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a human resources role within the retail, logistics, distribution or similar environment.
Proven experience operating in a unionized environment, including negotiations and grievance handling.
Demonstrated ability to build positive employee relations and navigate complex labor relations issues.
CHRP or CPHR designation is strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of Canadian federal and provincial employment laws.
