Position: HR Operations Specialist
Shift: Standard 9-to-5 schedule. Hybrid 3 days a week onsite
Location: Toronto, ON
Payrate: $28.57/h
5 month contract with possibility of extension/conversion into FTE opportunity

Responsibilities
● Administering associate benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, invoice
reconciliation, and communicating program details to associates and People Leaders
● Supporting the full-cycle absence and leave management process, from the associate's initial
request to their return to work, aligned with company’s guidelines and legal parameters
● Working closely with partner HR teams to ensure Workday and benefit integration files work as
intended.
● Proposing, developing, and implementing improvements to existing processes and
documentation for the HR Operations, Benefits, Immigration and Absence Management
portfolio, and developing new processes as the program and business needs evolve
● Partnering with, and overseeing, external vendors for benefits and leave programs (e.g., benefit
vendors, disability case managers)
● Providing guidance and consultation to associates, managers and HR partners on company’s
benefits plans, absence management program, return to work plans, accommodations and
immigration/mobility procedures
● Partnering with key partners in Canada, including Legal, Associate Relations and HR Business
Partners on regulatory/employment liability issues as they relate to complex cases
● Remaining current on best practices and legislation impacting benefits, absence management,
immigration, global mobility, and HR Operations, and recommending improvements to develop
and maintain company policies, procedures and processes
● Managing escalations and responding to associate inquiries in a timely manner
● Reporting on benefits, absence management, and immigration/mobility trends using data to
highlight key metrics and flag emerging risks and issues
● Assisting with global mobility logistics for cross-border transfers and international assignments
● Supporting the immigration operations for existing associates, including eligibility audits and
coordinating with external legal counsel/vendors for work permits
● Ensuring compliance with federal laws and company policy / procedures
● Ensure data accuracy and consistency in all HR systems
● Determines the root cause of a problem or issue and provides recommendations for resolution
● Supports special projects as required
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
● At least 2 years of experience working in HR, specifically with a focus on benefits administration
and broader HR operations
● Previous experience providing HR Operations services to internal clients and other stakeholders
● Advanced knowledge of Google Suite (including Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and Workday or
other HRIS platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
● Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal), able to communicate effectively with all levels,
exercising discretion, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity
● Highly proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with superior attention to detail and
accuracy
● Strong organizational skills, including balancing multiple responsibilities, effectively meeting
deadlines and handling high work volume
● Proven record of delivering excellent customer service
● Experience working with third party vendors (e.g., benefit carriers, disability case managers,
workers compensation representatives)
● Sound judgment and decision-making skills
● Analytical and problem-solving skills
