This HRBP role is a "boots on the ground" strategic position. You will balance the technical accuracy required for payroll audits and SAP data management with the high-level emotional intelligence needed to manage site-level conflict and executive-level coaching. Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory: Act as the primary HR consultant for business leaders, providing guidance on strategic planning, workforce transitions, and departmental development.
Employee Relations & Coaching: Lead sensitive investigations, manage grievances, and coach managers on performance management (PIPs), progressive discipline, and conflict resolution.
Compensation & Benefits: Conduct salary analysis for new hires and promotions; lead year-end compensation reviews and STIP (Short Term Incentive Plan) administration.
Disability Management: Manage the full cycle of disability cases, educating leaders on policies and coordinating complex return-to-work plans and accommodations.
Talent & Succession: Facilitate Talent Reviews (9-box) and identify High Performers (HIPOs) for specialized leadership training and succession planning.
HR Analytics: Utilize SAP to oversee employment data accuracy, generate ad-hoc reports, and provide data-driven insights to the management team.
Corporate Advocacy: Support the rollout of corporate initiatives, including Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (ED&I) programs and employee recognition awards.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within construction, engineering, or a heavy industrial sector.
Professional Designation: CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) designation (completed or actively in progress) is considered a strong asset.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and hands-on experience with an ERP (SAP experience is a significant advantage).
Core Competencies: Strong critical thinking skills, the ability to handle confidential information with high integrity, and a proactive "team-first" attitude.
