I am currently partnering with a major Quebec-based company to find their next Human Resources Manager for their head office located in Laval.
The Role
In this critical HR Manager position, you will serve as the central HR pillar for an organization of several hundred employees across an extensive network of branches throughout Canada.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR Generalist who possesses strong operational agility and the desire to provide a structured vision to an authentic corporate culture.

Responsibilities
As our Human Resources Manager, you will tackle a dynamic range of operational and strategic missions. Your day-to-day will involve:
• Full-Cycle Recruitment (approx. 35%): Leading the entire hiring process—from posting on specialized platforms to final selection—in close partnership with Business Unit Managers.
• Strategic Advisory: Acting as an expert consultant to senior leadership on complex labor relations and performance management issues.
• HRIS & Tech Management: Administering and optimizing HR management tools, including the HRIS and talent acquisition platforms.
• Occupational Health & Safety (OHS): Managing the OHS file, including injury prevention and the follow-up of workplace accident claims (CSST/WSIB/etc.).
• Program Development: Maintaining and evolving internal HR programs, such as job descriptions, compensation policies, and employer branding initiatives.
• Special Projects: Coordinating internal communications and the rollout of new collaborative tools.
• Operational Support: Providing "boots-on-the-ground" support to various business units to ensure uniform application of HR best practices and to strengthen organizational culture.
• Compliance: Ensuring all HR practices remain legally compliant across the different provinces served by the organization.
Qualifications
To be considered for this strategic Human Resources Manager role, candidates should possess the following credentials:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner (HRBP).
• Context: Proven track record in a multi-site environment or within a large-scale national organization.
• Language Skills: Advanced Bilingualism (English and French), both written and spoken, to effectively support a pan-Canadian market.
• Mobility: Ability to travel occasionally to provide on-site support to regional teams.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a sophisticated blend of technical expertise and high-level interpersonal skills:
• Influential Leadership: A strong ability to communicate with confidence and diplomacy when advising senior executive leadership.
• Autonomy: Highly self-directed with the ability to balance daily operational files with tactical HR projects simultaneously.
• Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency in HR technologies (HRIS, ATS) and a high comfort level with digital recruitment tools.
• Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional listening skills paired with the necessary firmness to manage sensitive or complex cases.
• Results-Oriented: A strong drive for results and the agility to adapt within a fast-paced, evolving entrepreneurial environment.
