Responsibilities
• Safely disassemble complex industrial machinery and production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Clean the internal components, gears, and compartments of the manufacturing machines to remove debris, buildup, and residue.
• Meticulously reassemble the machinery, ensuring all components are properly aligned and secured for the next production cycle.
• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools effectively to complete mechanical teardowns and adjustments.
• Follow strict industrial cleaning protocols and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and productive environment.
• Inspect machine parts during the cleaning process and report any visible wear, damage, or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work zone within the manufacturing facility.
• Collaborate with the maintenance and manufacturing & logistics teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as an Industrial Cleaner, machine operator, or in a related skilled trades/manufacturing role.
• Must be mechanically inclined with demonstrable experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout the night shift.
• Must possess and wear CSA-approved steel-toed safety shoes or boots at all times on the production floor.
• Ability to work comfortably in an industrial manufacturing environment with a strong rubber smell.
• Excellent English communication skills to follow detailed technical safety and cleaning instructions.
• Full flexibility and reliability to commit to the designated night shift schedule in Brantford.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a natural comfort working with machinery and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in operating a wide range of mechanical hand tools and power tools.
• Solid understanding of basic industrial cleaning processes, chemical safety, and sanitation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical diagrams or verbal instructions for machine assembly.
• Excellent physical stamina, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination for repetitive technical tasks.
