We're hiring a Senior Buyer/Estimator with specialized expertise in piping and process mechanics, capable of managing both strategic purchasing and budget estimations directly on a significant heavy industrial site located in the heart of the Laurentians.
This key position is for a meticulous professional who's passionate about performance and comfortable with construction products, located right in the heart of the Laurentians, in Sainte-Sophie.

Schedule: Full-time (40 hrs/week), on-site
Salary: Competitive remuneration based on your experience, starting at $60/hour

Responsibilities
As a Senior Estimator and Buyer, you'll be responsible for:
1. Project Estimation (Site – Process Mechanics and Piping)
Analyze plans, specifications, contractual documents, and schedules to assess the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
Evaluate technical constraints, supply risks, and site-specific particularities.
Develop realistic and precise estimates for work related to piping, industrial process systems, heavy mechanical equipment, and on-site installation.
Provide comparative cost analyses (in-house vs. subcontracting) to support strategic decisions.
2. Purchasing and Procurement (Site)
Select, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of materials, specialized equipment, and services based on specific site needs.
Optimize costs and supply times, considering on-site mobilization constraints.
Manage purchase orders, delivery tracking, material reception, and logistical coordination with the site.
Implement a proactive purchasing strategy to reduce costs, improve quality, and secure supply in contexts of scarcity.
Qualifications
This role is for you if you possess:
An AEC in estimation, a DEC (Collegial Studies Diploma), or a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent.
8 to 10 years of relevant experience in purchasing/estimation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and knowledge of Bluebeam, Navisworks, Fastpipe, or Trimble.
General health and safety training for construction sites (ASP Construction).
Experience in heavy industrial construction sites.
Autonomy, resourcefulness, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
