Responsibilities
A senior level Infrastructure Project Manager is required, with relevant technical, communication, planning, delivery, and leadership skills to provide oversight and successful execution of project activities including stakeholder engagement, planning, resource management, funding facilitation and delivery assurance. This role requires broad experience managing enterprise change, and defining execution strategies that adhere to organizational objectives.
Reporting to the Program Manager – Technology Alignment, the Senior Project Manager is a key member of the Technology Alignment Infrastructure Program Team. The project manager’s role is to facilitate the implementation of infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget and meeting required quality and service levels.
Successful candidates will have deep IT skills, proven professional experience in similar roles, and a strong desire to deliver highest-quality results in a demanding setting.
Accountabilities:
•Provide project management expertise and oversight of IT Infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery without compromising high quality deliverables.
•Ownership of assigned IT projects and initiatives, bringing them to a successful closure.
•Provide periodic reporting on project status, activities and tasks, risk, interdependencies, and issues for presentation to senior executives, major stakeholders, and PQTO.
•Preparation and presentation of decision-making material for PHSA and VCH governance.
•Be involved in planning and design, delivering business cases for infrastructure implementation.
•Collaborate closely with PHSA technical operations, facility operations, and architecture teams.
•Deliver quality documentation allowing for smooth execution of work, ensuring close observance of Technology Alignment and PQTO policies and processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
•Write business cases and project charters.
•Accountable for project plan, scope, budget, risk, issue, and resource management.
•Accountable for delivery of all in-scope project activities.
•Develop and facilitate project governance process to support delivery.
•Prepare materials and facilitate discussions and decisions at Governance Committee meetings.
•Develop project strategy and approach for stakeholder review and decisions.
•Liaise with vendor and manage vendor resources, where required, to support project delivery.
•Lead and performance manage project resources.
•Ensure projects align with PQTO standards and governance guidelines.
•Facilitates client engagement, supporting appropriate planning and communications.
•Manage procurement to meet project plans.
Qualifications
•Strong client-focused, team-oriented communication skills with emphasis on building lasting, trusted partnerships through written and verbal communications with clients of Technology Alignment.
•Proven experience in writing business cases and project charters – short-listed candidates will be required to submit written examples.
•A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related discipline.
•Past project management experience with Clinical Information Systems is an asset.
•Experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
•Experienced in thoroughly integrating change management and process improvement principles into own project management style.
•Experience coordinating and supporting changes and upgrades to LIVE critical systems.
•Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
•Knowledge of PM tools, such as Microsoft Project.
•Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
