This role requires a low-level embedded developer with hands-on experience in Linux and QNX OS/kernel internals, silicon bring-up, and peripheral driver design. You will own the implementation of custom bootloaders, secure boot routines, and low-level device drivers, writing bare-metal and C code to interface directly with memory controllers, communication buses, and ARM processor architectures.

Responsibilities
1. BSP & Bootloader Development
Design and implement BSP features and low-level bootloader components within a collaborative software development team.
Design and implement secure boot functionality to guarantee firmware integrity upon system startup.
Configure and optimize flash memory interfaces and controllers for eMMC, NAND, and NOR memory architectures.
Author comprehensive software design specifications and actively participate in peer design and code reviews.
2. Hardware Bring-Up & Peripheral Driver Engineering
Execute complete target board bring-up milestones for new hardware revisions and target System-on-Chips (SoCs).
Design, implement, and debug low-level device drivers across hardware interfaces, including UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN/CAN FD.
Interpret electronic schematics, pinout diagrams, and hardware specifications to diagnose hardware-software integration issues.
Utilize physical lab debugging tools—including JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes—to perform low-level system triage.
3. Testing, Validation & Collaboration
Assist with product verification, validation, unit testing, and system-level troubleshooting routines.
Proactively identify technical roadblocks or system anomalies early, offering practical solutions to engineering leads and cross-functional teams.
Maintain clean source code management workflows using standard distributed version control systems (Git, SVN).
Qualifications
Core Experience & Education
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Tenure: 4+ years of dedicated professional experience in the design and development of BSPs (Linux/QNX) and bootloaders.
Board Bring-Up Track Record: Proven hands-on experience completing at least 2 full target board bring-ups.
Technical Skillset Matrix
Programming Languages: Extensive low-level C programming and debugging skills, supported by practical Assembly language experience.
Linux & QNX Internals: Strong understanding of Linux/QNX kernel internals, memory mapping, virtual memory, file systems, and device tree configurations.
Processor Architecture: Detailed operational knowledge of ARM processors (Cortex-A application series and Cortex-M microcontroller series).
Driver Development: Direct experience developing device drivers for UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN/CAN FD hardware buses.
Memory & Storage: Experience configuring eMMC storage as well as NAND and NOR flash memory controllers.
Diagnostics & Lab Hardware: Proficient at reading electronic schematics and using JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
Version Control: Proficiency with SVN and Git source control tools.
