In this role, you will be responsible for translating business requirements and technical specifications into high-performing, scalable, and thoroughly tested software solutions. Working across the full stack, you will write core Java EE code, build relational database structures and stored procedures, integrate Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) and Spring frameworks, develop modern user interfaces, and optimize cloud-hosted or Business Process Management (BPM) workflows.

Location: Toronto, ON (Fully Onsite – 5 days/week required)
Duration: 9-month contract.
Advantages
Full-Stack Java Enterprise Scope: Deep hands-on development combining core Java EE backend architectures with modern React/Angular front-end frameworks.
Modern Cloud & AWS Integration: Work directly with cloud-native data platforms including Amazon Aurora, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, and OpenSearch.
Advanced Automation & BPM: Gain exposure to Business Process Management engines (Camunda) and business rules engines (Drools).
Dedicated Onsite Collaboration: Work alongside senior software engineers and enterprise architects in a focused 5-day per week workspace.
Responsibilities
Java EE Application Engineering: Design, write, test, debug, and support complex n-tier enterprise web applications utilizing Java Enterprise technologies, design patterns, and modern architectural principles.
Backend Framework & ORM Integration: Implement scalable backend services, business logic layers, and data access components using Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) and ORM tools such as JPA or Hibernate.
Database & SQL Development: Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access layers across relational and cloud databases including Oracle, PL/SQL, Postgres, Amazon Aurora, and RDS.
Front-End UI Development: Build responsive, user-friendly front-end web interfaces using JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or jQuery.
Testing & Defect Resolution: Perform unit testing, automated component testing, root-cause troubleshooting, and performance tuning to resolve technical defects during implementation and deployment.
Cloud & Workflow Optimization: Support cloud services integration (AWS S3, Aurora Serverless, OpenSearch, ElastiCache) and Business Process Management (BPM) tools (Camunda, Drools Rule Engine) to streamline business automation.
Agile Collaboration & Technical Support: Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery activities—including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups—and prepare technical documentation for solution handovers.
Qualifications
N-Tier Java EE Development: 7+ years of hands-on software development experience building n-tier enterprise applications using Java Enterprise technologies (Strictly Required).
