Responsibilities
- Oversee all international operational activities
- Ensure shipments are loaded, departed, and delivered according to plan
- Act as escalation point for international operational issues
- Full ownership of international margin
- Accountability for all costs or credits caused by execution errors
- Ownership of all international project analysis
- Ownership of all international pricing project analysis
- Daily follow-up on all international shipments
- Clean international inboxes daily by 5:00 PM
- After-hours/night coverage for special projects
- Own international operations margin
- Control costs and prevent avoidable overruns
- Partner with Senior Operations Manager on margin analysis
- Analyze and validate all new and revised international pricing
- Ensure pricing meets margin targets and SLA requirements
-Prepare and issue quotes for non-standard international shipments, developing competitive pricing solutions that maximize win rates while protecting margins
- Escalate or block underpriced or high-risk proposals
- Lead and hold team accountable
- Address performance issues promptly
Qualifications
- Expert level English with a proficient level of French
- 2-5 years of ground/ocean/air experience within the Transportation Industry
- Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven management and leadership abilities
- Sound decision making and judgement
- The ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports
Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees
- Excellent organizational, and time management skills to manage and prioritize tasks
- Ability to develop, maintain and adapt action plans to achieve business targets.
- Ability to remain objective in stressful situations
- Flexibility and adaptability
