As an Import Customs Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely clearance of goods through customs. This role is well-suited for someone detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and eager to contribute to a growing trade services team.

Responsibilities
• Review and validate import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Understand and apply tariff schedules, preferential treatments, and compliance requirements.
• Transmit entry data and supporting documentation to customs authorities.
• Monitor cargo status and follow up on holds, exams, or release delays.
• Collaborate with brokers, forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance.
• Work collaboratively across departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations
• Support internal compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting.
• Contribute directly to the success of the Trade Services team by safeguarding compliance and reducing risk.
• Support other operational tasks as required.
Qualifications
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation preferred.
• Strong ability to understand and validate import clearance documentation for Canada and the U.S.
• Knowledge of tariff schedules and preferential treatments.
• 2–3 years of experience in import logistics, customs clearance, or compliance.
• Fluency in English (written/spoken).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with persistence.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized under pressure.
• A true team player who enjoys working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Solid computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word); prior SAP B1 experience an asset.
• Comfortable working with web-based platforms and online trade systems.
