Responsibilities
Execute flawless, X-ray compliant B-Pressure welds on a wide variety of alloy and carbon steel piping configurations.
Adhere strictly to all client-specific engineering guidelines, alongside overarching CWB and ASME fabrication codes.
Read, analyze, and fabricate directly from complex isometric drawings, detailed blueprints, and technical spool sheets.
Diligently maintain all required quality assurance paperwork, including comprehensive weld mapping and material tracking logs.
Drive shop productivity by meeting stringent manufacturing deadlines, never compromising on our zero-incident safety culture.
Partner seamlessly with quality control inspectors, pipefitters, and fellow tradespeople to ensure uninterrupted workflow across all production shifts.
Qualifications
Mandatory Certification: You must hold a current, fully valid Alberta B-Pressure welding ticket to be considered for this role.
Relevant Experience: A solid track record of delivering code-compliant pipe welds within an industrial manufacturing or heavy fabrication shop.
Technical Versatility: Exceptional hands-on skill with GMAW, MCAW, and SMAW processes. (Holding specialized TIG/GTAW tickets is a massive bonus!).
Testing Readiness: You must be fully prepared to crush a stringent pre-employment shop weld test (typically involving 6-inch schedule 80 carbon pipe).
Independent Drive: High mechanical intelligence with the capacity to execute complex, multi-step tasks autonomously and efficiently.
Logistics & Gear: You must possess reliable personal transportation to commute daily to Nisku, along with your own standard trade tools and welding helmet.
Safety First: An unwavering dedication to executing safe work practices amidst a fast-paced, high-volume production schedule.
