If so, we’d like to hear from you! Our client, a well-established construction company in Edmonton, is looking for a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join their team. In this role, you’ll be working on a variety of projects — from framing walls and installing drywall to completing high-end finishes — in residential, commercial, modular, and restoration settings.
Position: Full-time, field-based (direct hire)
Schedule: Typically 14 days on / 4 days off (10-hour days) – schedule may vary by project
Environment: Non-unionized
Wage: $33-$38/hr, based on experience and qualifications
Travel: Primarily Edmonton & area, with occasional out-of-town work across Alberta and Western Canada

Responsibilities
What does a normal day include?
- Framing, finishing, drywall, trim, siding, flooring, doors, cabinetry, and other carpentry tasks
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications
- Constructing structural components using wood, steel, and other materials
- Ensuring all work meets building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Mentoring and guiding apprentices and junior carpenters
- Assisting with modular unit assembly and installation on-site
- Collaborating with other trades for seamless project delivery
- Maintaining safe, organized job sites and adhering to OHS standards
Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
- Journeyman Carpenter certification (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of general carpentry experience
- Modular construction is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency in framing, drywall, finishing carpentry, and cabinetry
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical drawings
- Valid CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications (additional safety tickets an asset)
- AWP and equipment operator license is a strong asset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel for projects when needed
