We’re looking for a dependable and technically proficient Fleet Mechanic to join our expanding maintenance team. Occasionally, you may provide on-site or roadside service, ensuring vehicles return to operation efficiently and safely. You’ll also work with diesel and gas engines, air and hydraulic brake systems, multi-voltage electrical systems, and modern computerized controls.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Tackling: Keeping Operations Running Smoothly
Primary Shop Resource: Report to the Lead Mechanic and serve as the go-to person for inspecting, servicing, installing, and repairing our diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Technical Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Interpret work orders, conduct road and functional tests, and use diagnostic tools alongside hands-on expertise to identify mechanical and electrical issues in engines, transmissions, steering and suspension systems, braking assemblies, and advanced electronic controls.
Comprehensive Repairs & Overhauls: Perform routine repairs and extensive rebuilds on diesel and gasoline engines, powertrains, generators, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems, including drivetrain alignments and wheel-related calibrations.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance routines, including detailed monthly assessments, to minimize breakdowns and ensure fleet reliability.
Minor Bodywork & Field Support: Perform small-scale body repairs such as windshield, bumper, and trim fixes, and provide mobile service when needed to return vehicles to operation quickly.
Safety, Organization & Reporting: Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace by following PPE guidelines, keeping the shop tidy, and documenting all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities for compliance and traceability.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Certified Journeyman: Hands-on, journey-level experience as an automotive and/or heavy-truck fleet mechanic, with the ability to maintain annual certification as a licensed vehicle inspection technician.
Specialized Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in areas such as electrical systems, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, or advanced mechanical repair, giving you a competitive edge.
Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Core Skills & Competencies: Excellent reading, math, and communication skills, strong hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with precision.
Physical Readiness: Comfortable regularly lifting up to 50 lbs and occasionally handling loads up to 75 lbs when necessary.
Valid Driver’s License: Must hold a current, unrestricted driver’s license to operate company vehicles and perform field-related tasks.
