Keep Our Fleet Performing at Its Best — Join Our Skilled Mechanics Team!
Are you a certified Journeyman Fleet Mechanic passionate about ensuring vehicles operate safely, reliably, and efficiently? Do you thrive on diagnosing issues, executing precise repairs, and performing preventive maintenance with attention to detail? If so, this role could be the perfect next step in your career.
...
We are looking for a dependable and highly capable Fleet Mechanic to join our expanding maintenance team. You will play a key role in keeping every fleet vehicle road-ready and performing at peak efficiency. Beyond routine service, you will act as the primary technical resource for complex mechanical repairs, advanced electrical diagnostics, and in-depth troubleshooting. Your skills and dedication will be vital in maintaining fleet reliability, supporting operational safety, and ensuring long-term equipment performance.
Advantages
Why This Role Is an Excellent Career Move
Autonomy & Advanced Skill Application
This position is designed for an experienced mechanic — not an entry-level technician. Your Journeyperson certification and deep technical expertise will be relied upon daily. You will serve as the lead resource for complex diagnostics, major repairs, and maintenance tasks that directly affect fleet performance. From engines and transmissions to hydraulic systems, HVAC, electrical components, steering, and braking systems, you will tackle challenging rebuilds and troubleshooting tasks that allow you to showcase — and further develop — your mastery of the trade.
Varied, Hands-On Daily Work
No two days are the same. Your responsibilities will range from routine inspections and tune-ups to comprehensive system overhauls and repairs. You may also handle minor bodywork, including glass and bumper repairs. On occasion, you’ll provide field or roadside support to get vehicles safely back into service. You’ll work with diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, multi-voltage electrical configurations, and modern computerized vehicle controls, keeping every day engaging and challenging.
Safety-First Environment & Continuous Learning
Join a team that prioritizes safety and follows strict protocols. Proper PPE is provided and used consistently, and all work is conducted within a structured system designed to protect you and your colleagues. You’ll also have opportunities for ongoing professional development, including technical courses and certifications to stay current with industry advances, new tools, and evolving best practices.
Impactful Work That Matters
The maintenance and repairs you perform directly influence the fleet’s reliability, uptime, and efficiency. You will diagnose issues, carry out repairs, perform functional testing, and communicate results clearly to operators and supervisors, ensuring accountability and transparency. Additionally, you will support the shop’s organization by keeping your workspace clean, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that tools and parts are always ready when needed.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Responsible For: Keeping Our Fleet Dependable and Road-Ready
Primary Shop Technician Role
Support the Lead Mechanic as a key hands-on technician, responsible for inspecting, servicing, installing, and repairing a diverse range of fleet vehicles and mechanical equipment.
Technical Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Interpret work orders, perform road and functional tests, and apply both diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to identify issues in engines, transmissions, steering and suspension systems, brake assemblies, and modern electronic control modules.
Comprehensive Repairs & Rebuilds
Conduct routine repairs as well as complete overhauls on diesel and gasoline engines, drivetrains, generators, HVAC units, and hydraulic systems. Tasks include precise alignment work, wheel calibrations, and full component restorations to maintain optimal performance.
Preventive Maintenance Execution
Carry out scheduled inspections, tune-ups, lubrication, and preventive maintenance tasks, including detailed monthly evaluations, to minimize downtime and maximize equipment longevity.
Minor Bodywork & Field Assistance
Perform small-scale body repairs such as windshields, bumpers, and exterior trim, and provide mobile mechanical support when vehicles require field servicing.
Safety, Organization & Record-Keeping
Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient shop environment by following PPE standards, keeping work areas orderly, and documenting all maintenance, repair, and inspection work for accuracy, compliance, and future reference.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Journeyman Certification
Demonstrated hands-on experience as a journeyman automotive or heavy-duty fleet mechanic, with the ability to maintain annual licensure as a certified vehicle inspection technician.
Specialized Technical Expertise
Strong proficiency in key areas such as electrical system diagnostics, HVAC maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and advanced mechanical repair, making you a go-to technical resource.
Educational Background
High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
Core Skills & Competencies
Excellent reading, writing, and numeracy skills, coupled with strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow written instructions and verbal directions accurately and efficiently.
Physical Readiness
Comfortable lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, with the occasional need to handle loads up to 75 lbs.
Valid Driver’s License
Must hold a current, unrestricted driver’s license to operate company vehicles and provide off-site mechanical support when needed.
