Always expanding, our team is looking for a Journeyman Instrument Trades Qualification (Red Seal) Mechanic to help with Safety and PMs while working with production schedules. In this role you would diagnose and repair instrumentation equipment, respond to emergency call outs and perform daily health checks for our control and alarm systems. You would create, Support and Troubleshoot automation/controls (DCS/PLC) and work with purchasing, corporate engineering and vendors to specify and source automation equipment and materials within the plant. We are looking for serious inquiries only and the role is available to start right away!

Shift: Mon-Thursday or Tuesday to Friday ( 4 x 10/hrs )
Job Time: 4 days on, 3 days off / Days
Wage offered: Union position $55.54/hr.
Not a transit friendly location- will need a vehicle
Red Seal Ticket needed- Multiple Ticket Highly Preferred!
This is a unionized role, long-term and on a temporary full-time basis!

Responsibilities
- Work with purchasing, corporate engineering and vendors to specify and source automation equipment and materials within the plant.
- Perform day-to-day health checks of the Control and alarm systems.
- Ensures PM tasks are executed on schedule while minimizing plant downtime due to failure.
- Possess strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.
- Diagnose and repair instrumentation equipment breakdowns and problems efficiently to minimize production interruptions.
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing DCS, PLC, and HMI systems, performing loop checks, instrument calibrations, as well as replacing and/or rebuilding a variety of instrumentation equipment.
- Respond to emergency call outs and situations with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience troubleshooting and programming DCS, PLC and HMI systems
- Experience working in an environment with a strong magnetic field
- Able to Create, Support and Troubleshoot automation/controls (DCS/PLC) within the plant.
- Show acumen and desire to learn both Instrument and electrical aspects of maintenance
- Available full time and are open to work rotations
- Minimum 3 years of process plant experience and must have strong communication and time management skills
- Located in or around the North Vancouver, BC area
