Responsibilities
- Execute the assembly and positioning of structural steel components, with a primary focus on ground-level construction.
- Safely and proficiently operate zoom booms and overhead cranes for the precise movement and placement of steel members.
- Accurately read and interpret complex blueprints and shop drawings to successfully guide and complete assembly work.
- Collaborate effectively with an experienced crew within a fast-paced and supportive work environment.
- Rigorously adhere to all site safety protocols and procedures to consistently maintain a secure and incident-free workplace.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Ironworker certification is required (Red Seal endorsement is a strong plus).
- Third-year apprentices will also be considered for this role.
- Strong, proven experience in structural steel assembly, specifically at ground level.
- Comfortable operating both zoom booms and overhead cranes.
- Demonstrated ability to read drawings and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A dependable, safety-conscious individual who has reliable personal transportation to the Nisku site (note: the site is not accessible by public transit).
