We are seeking a Canada Compliance Lead to spearhead the implementation and ongoing evolution of the Compliance Programme across Canada. This individual will serve as the primary compliance contact within the country, ensuring that both global standards and local regulatory requirements are met and maintained. The role plays a vital part in shaping the organization's compliance culture and risk management strategy, with responsibilities extending to global compliance initiatives in either training and third-party risk or monitoring and corrective actions.

Responsibilities
1. Lead Compliance Activities in Canada
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the Compliance Programme, tailored to Canadian laws, industry codes, and business context.
- Utilize local trends and data to identify high-risk areas and adjust compliance activities accordingly.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders across the Canadian market to provide informed compliance advice.
- Develop and deliver tailored compliance training, tools, and resources for employees at all levels.
2. Drive a Culture of Integrity
- Collaborate with senior leadership to promote a “speak-up” culture and model ethical business conduct.
- Embed compliance into business strategy through proactive risk management and strategic counsel.
3. Contribute at the Leadership Level
- Actively participate in the Canadian leadership team to guide ethical decision-making and ensure alignment of business and compliance goals.
4. Investigations and Remediation
- Support or lead internal investigations related to misconduct, driving resolution and accountability.
- Influence senior leaders to implement effective remediation plans and risk mitigation strategies.
5. Global Compliance Collaboration (approx. 25%)
Support one of two global compliance areas:
(a) Training, policy development, communications, and third-party risk management; or
(b) Compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and corrective/preventative action planning.
Engage with global teams to align local compliance efforts with international standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Education & Language:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Ethics, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); French is a strong asset
Experience & Skills:
- Demonstrated success designing and executing compliance strategies in global, regulated environments—preferably in healthcare
- Deep knowledge of compliance laws and standards, including U.S., U.K., and Canadian regulations
- Experience presenting to executive leadership, with strong influencing and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage evolving risks and adjust strategies accordingly
- Adept at building trusted partnerships and challenging decisions when needed to uphold compliance standards
- Strong collaboration and change management skills
- Track record of driving cultural change and embedding compliance into business operations
