Responsibilities
◾Lead the design for electrical projects
◾Secure new business by responding to and winning Requests for Proposals.
◾Provide technical leadership and daily supervision to at least two team members.
◾Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with internal and external consultants.
◾Manage relationships with both clients and contractors.
◾Conduct on-site reviews, oversee change notices, and ensure project success.
◾Handle all technical design requirements for electrical systems, including coordination, distribution, fire alarms, emergency and life safety systems, and lighting controls.
◾Design a variety of mid- or high-rise residential, commercial, and institutional/educational buildings.
◾Mentor and provide performance reviews for junior staff.
Qualifications
◾Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), or a Limited Engineering License/Technologist (LEL, LET)
◾A minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering experience within the building construction industry, NOT manufacturing
◾Proven technical knowledge in delivering electrical designs for various building types.
◾Extensive knowledge of relevant Canadian and Ontario codes and standards
◾Experience managing an electrical staff team preferred
