As a Mechanical Technologist, you would be involved in the design review, manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of automated welding systems.ADVANTAGESThis is a contract position to start, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role after 6 months! There are 2 positions available - 1 afternoon shift (Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 12am) and 1 night shift (Sunday - Friday, 11pm - 7am). ADVANTAGESThis is a permanent opportunity (with the first 6 months of employment spent on Randstad's payroll) with excellent opportunity for growth, within a challenging technical environment.RESPONSIBILITIES•Liquid penetrant inspections (LPI)•Radiographic testing (RT)•X Ray inspections•Ultrasonic thickness testing (UT)•Sample preparation•Interpretation of NDE methodology•Disposition of materials in writing•Visual, non-destructive and dimensional inspections (vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators etc.)•Quality assurance testing and reporting•Tracking material status•Performing other testing requirements during various states of the repair process•Working to defined standards and methodologies•Applying test criteria QUALIFICATIONS•Level 2 NDT Certification is required•Graduate of a 2 year college level program in Mechanical Engineering Tech – NDE required•Minimum 2 years’ experience is required •Previous experience in the nuclear or aerospace industry preferred•Liquid Penetrant Inspections (LPI) is required•X Ray Inspections is an asset•Familiarity with ISO quality system an assetSUMMARYIf you are interested in this opportunity, apply today!
