Responsibilities
-Legal Documentation & Court Filings: Prepare and issue court documents, judgments, writs, affidavits of documents, and witness lists. Ensure compliance with statutory limitation periods and court deadlines.
-Financial Administration: Oversee the full cycle of payment accounts
-Litigation & Privacy Support: Assist with various litigation and privacy files, including responding to access to information requests and other privacy queries under relevant legislation.
-Reporting & Record Management: Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for litigation and privacy files. Maintain and update the document management database, acting as the custodian of all litigation and privacy records.
-Stakeholder Coordination: Schedule and arrange meetings, including discoveries and mediations. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate legal processes.
-Process Improvement: Provide recommendations to streamline and enhance departmental practices.
Qualifications
-Education: Completion of a law clerk diploma or paralegal education diploma.
-Experience: 1–2 years of practical experience in a legal administrator environment.
-Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with document management systems is an asset.
-Work Environment: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
-Personality Fit: The ideal candidate will be organized, diligent, and possess excellent time management skills. Ability to work effectively with a direct and concise supervisor.
