This is a fantastic hybrid opportunity (4 days in-office) to support two dedicated lawyers (a Partner and an Associate) within a collaborative team. As a cornerstone of the practice, your role as Legal Assistant - Family Law will be dynamic, immersing you in the full lifecycle of family law files—from drafting correspondence and court documents to assisting with complex trial preparation.

Responsibilities
-Preparing, drafting, editing, and proofreading a wide array of legal documents, including correspondence to clients and counsel, briefs, affidavits, court orders, and other pleadings.
-Accurately preparing and managing complex family law-specific forms, such as divorce applications, motions, case conference briefs, and certificates of financial disclosure.
-Meticulously assembling and organizing evidence, preparing comprehensive court bundles, and creating other essential supporting materials for hearings, motions, and trials.
-Compiling, reviewing, and finalizing bills of costs and other financial documentation related to client files.
-Maintaining impeccable electronic and physical client files, ensuring all documents are properly filed, organized, and up-to-date in the document management system.
-Serving as a key point of contact, handling professional and timely communication with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and related vendors.
-Managing and coordinating the lawyers' calendars, including scheduling client meetings, court appearances, conferences, examinations, and mediations.
-Diligently managing and tracking all critical court deadlines, limitation periods, and appointments using a case management system to ensure timely compliance.
-Overseeing the filing (including e-filing) and serving of all court documents, ensuring strict adherence to all procedural rules and court requirements.
-Managing data entry and file information within the firm's case management system and utilizing specialized legal software like DivorceMate.
-Assisting lawyers with all aspects of trial preparation, including exhibit management and coordination.
-Providing comprehensive administrative and billing support, including running reports, entering dockets, running prebills, and assisting with the billing process.
Qualifications
-A polished, professional, and courteous demeanor with exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
-Highly organized with a proven ability to multi-task, prioritize competing deadlines, and manage a busy workload effectively.
-Impeccable attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
-The ability to exercise a high degree of tact, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive client and firm information.
-A reliable, punctual, and proactive work ethic with the ability to take initiative.
-Excellent command of computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat (working with PDF files).
-Strong ability to stay on top of a high volume of incoming emails and provide timely, professional responses.
-A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
-Familiarity with legal practice management software (like Soluno or PC Law) and document management systems (like Worldox or Netdocs) is a strong asset.
-Experience with DivorceMate software is highly desirable.
