Responsibilities
- License and Permit Management: Proactively coordinate and manage the entire lifecycle of various licenses and permits, including applications, renewals, amendments, and cancellations.
- Compliance and Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for municipal and provincial licensing boards, as well as other regulatory agencies, to ensure all licensing activities adhere to strict compliance requirements.
- Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain highly accurate and up-to-date licensing records in internal databases and tracking systems. Prepare and provide regular status reports to internal stakeholders. Document and report on resolved issues, detailing the steps taken.
- Administrative Support: Review and process expense reports, organize and maintain a detailed electronic filing system, and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in licensing, compliance, coordination, and compliance in the food industry.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to ask probing questions to ensure clarity and liaise with all levels of associates and external officials.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Reader and Writer, and experience with databases and tracking systems.
- Personal Attributes: Highly motivated, self-starter who can handle a heavy workload and work both independently and as part of a team. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy is essential.
Assets (Nice to Have)
- A Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Paralegal designation.
- Experience specifically with licensing and permits.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in French.
