Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination: Work closely with clients to understand their transportation needs, assess cargo requirements, and organize shipments efficiently.
- Carrier Selection: Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate carriers based on specific client needs, routes, costs, and deadlines.
- Rate Negotiation: Negotiate transportation rates with carriers to ensure competitive costs while maintaining high service standards.
- Shipment Tracking: Ensure continuous tracking of shipments in transit, quickly resolve any potential issues, and provide regular updates to clients.
- Documentation Management: Ensure that all required documentation for shipments is complete and compliant with current regulations.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients by responding to their needs and anticipating their requests.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Knowledge of truck transport and industry practices;
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems quickly;
- Analytical mind to evaluate costs, routes, and carrier performance;
- Customer service-oriented and a team player;
- Prior experience in transport logistics brokerage is an asset;
- French and English bilingualism required; (written or verbal exchanges with the client)
- Proficiency in computer systems, notably Microsoft Office, TMS, Excel, and Outlook.
