Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Setup, program, and operate CNC brake press machinery to precisely bend, form, and shape steel and sheet metal.
Program Execution: Load, call up, and fine-tune pre-established manufacturing programs on the machine interface.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze technical engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
Quality Assurance: Conduct routine quality checks using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, protractors) to guarantee parts meet strict tolerance limits.
Material Handling: Safely maneuver and position heavy metal sheets and steel components within the workstation.
Safety & Collaboration: Maintain a hazard-free work area in compliance with health and safety standards, and collaborate with shop supervisors to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
Qualifications
Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience as a CNC Brake Press Operator or Setter.
Industry Knowledge: Direct background working within the sheet metal, steel fabrication, or manufacturing sector.
Technical Skills: Confident ability to independently navigate machine controllers, load programs, and interpret blueprint concepts.
Precision Tools: Strong proficiency using standard inspection tools to identify and prevent bending defects early.
Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for the duration of a 9-hour shift and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Communication & Logistics: Reliable transportation to the Brantford facility, and strong English communication skills to safely follow technical orders and team guidelines.
