Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation: Configure and run CNC equipment (mills, lathes, or routers) to execute precise machining tasks.
- Material Handling: Load raw stock into machines safely and oversee the fabrication process from start to finish.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specs to verify exact dimensions and tolerances.
- Quality Inspection: Use precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges) to ensure all completed parts meet strict quality standards.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Handle minor machine adjustments, tool changes, and routine troubleshooting as needed.
- Workspace Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation in compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Literacy: Comfort reading blueprints and a solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Precision Focus: Proven ability to work with measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, punctual attendance, and dependable transportation to Brantford.
