Materials Manager

As a Materials Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the industrial management and manufacturing & logistics division by fostering strong interdepartmental collaboration, optimizing supply chain processes, and managing plant capacity. You will utilize advanced ERP/MRP platforms (such as Oracle or SAP) to conduct accurate material forecasting, control lot traceability, enforce First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices, and manage physical inventory counts. In addition, you will champion facility-specific health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949) to ensure full regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary direct customer contact for customer orders, ensuring precise scheduling, transparent communication, and complete order fulfillment.

• Lead and oversee all comprehensive materials management functions, including inventory control, procurement, supply chain planning, logistics, and distribution.

• Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate materials personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing manufacturing & logistics team.

• Direct physical inventory audits, adjust inventory levels, and generate monthly and quarterly analytical reports to optimize material flow and plant capacity.

• Monitor supplier compliance, evaluate vendor performance, and optimize transportation logistics to minimize shipping costs and maximize on-time delivery.

• Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles, lot traceability, FIFO inventory management, and 5S department standards.

• Perform annual performance appraisals for direct reports, aligning individual goals with broader operational and financial targets.

• Ensure strict departmental compliance with legislative requirements and quality/safety systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and Global Operating Systems (GOS).

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or logistics, preferably within a manufacturing facility.

• Industry certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are considered strong assets.

• Proven track record in supplier performance management, inventory optimization, and logistics cost control.

• In-depth familiarity with quality management systems (IATF 16949, ISO standards) and workplace safety protocols.

• Proven expertise in materials management, inventory control, purchasing, and logistics within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong proficiency with enterprise ERP/MRP systems (such as Oracle, SAP, or equivalent supply chain management software).

• Exceptional leadership, team management, performance evaluation, delegation, and coaching capabilities.

• High proficiency in material forecasting, supply chain optimization, and identifying strategic cost-saving opportunities.

• Expert knowledge of lean manufacturing tools, 5S methodologies, FIFO practices, and lot control traceability systems.

• Outstanding negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively manage customer relationships and cross-functional teams.
