Responsibilities
Design & Drafting: Create, update, and review detailed 2D drafting packages and 3D models (including fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings) using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Bills of Materials (BOMs): Prepare, organize, and manage detailed BOMs for procurement and manufacturing activities.
Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain clear technical specifications, design notes, and project documentation.
Procurement & Construction Support: Provide technical clarification and support during procurement, manufacturing, and on-site/shop installation phases.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate directly with project engineers, fabrication shop personnel, and external vendors to resolve design issues, clarify technical requirements, and streamline production.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all models and drawings adhere to industry standards, internal design guidelines, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related design discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on design experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environment.
Software Proficiency:
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation).
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting and drawing layouts).
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of industrial fabrication techniques, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
Solid grasp of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and drafting standards.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for effective coordination with vendors and workshop teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
