At our Cascades Bear Island facility in Ashland, VA you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Packaging sector as the Mechanical Project Leader :
- Provide engineering support for troubleshooting mechanical issues, transitioning into project leadership once root causes are identified
- Lead and manage concurrent mechanical projects from planning through execution within our papermill
- Develop and maintain project plans, including the creation of work orders and scheduling using planning tools
- Oversee vendor engagement, including obtaining and evaluating quotations
- Ensure timely execution of projects, with a strong focus on post-RCA (Root Cause Analysis) implementation and priority setting
- Review and update predictive maintenance plans in collaboration with maintenance teams in the CMMS (SAP)
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure project alignment with operational goals
- Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and efficiency throughout all project phases
- Continuously improve established maintenance processes including Defect Handling and Breakdown Elimination

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a maintenance, reliability and or engineering technician leading projects in an industrial setting
- Proficient in utilizing a CMMS to enhance operational efficiency and streamline maintenance processes
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills to interpret, evaluate and analyze facts and information to support problem solving
- Ability to overcome ambiguous and complex situations with an open mind considering creative and standard processes.
- Proficiency in project planning tools, such as MS Project
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Experience and understanding of Lean Production System principle
