      Your challenge!Implement chemical plant equipment and devise processes for manufacturing pulp and paper, by applying principles and technology of chemistry, physics, and engineering.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform all chemical material handling duties including off-loading chemical trucks, organizing the chemical warehouse, filling production chemicals, loading empty IBC truck shipments and loading chemical waste shipments. Candidate will need to get certified for operation of fork-lifts.Perform routine housekeeping and maintenance for all chemical dosing applications and the associated areas.Oversee all aspects of chemical inventory management in SAP. This includes chemical ordering, development of material BOMs, receiving chemicals and month-end inventory counts.Direct management of all chemical vendors and suppliers.Develop safety procedures and work instructions to be utilized by all workers involved with chemical use.               Record, analyze, and interpret data in chemical trials to determine feasibility and optimize cost savings. Work with production staff and chemical vendors to carry out trial plans.Oversee boiler chemical applications and their impact on the mill steam system. Perform weekly boiler water tests.Minimize non-hazardous and hazardous chemical waste and schedule waste removal to comply with DEC guidelines.Create and follow the environmental calendar throughout the year. Complete all environmental reports for the facility before their respective deadlines and keep up with other environmental tasks.Coordinate with Production Supervisor and production employees to optimize chemical usage in all areas of the process.Review quality specifications for production orders in real time and create solutions for maintaining centerline quality.Attend morning team meetings to act as a resource for troubleshooting operations issues.       Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Maintenance Manager, the candidate will have the following responsibilities:As part of our maintenance team, you will construct and manufacture metal parts, piping, tubing and other as required. You will need to be able determine material measurements and take responsibility for fabricating parts/piping that are used in a papermill. The welding will mostly be done with TIG/Stick on stainless steel.You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to ensure weld quality and suitability.  Welding will be performed in the mill shop or on the machine as required.Piping experience is required.Mechanical experience is also required as 25% of the position will require you to work along with the mechanical maintenance team on various activities.Once sufficiently trained you will be put on-call on a four (4) week rotation along with the mechanical maintenance team.  The on-call duty is mandatory.You will need to make Safe work habits a way of life and follow OSHA as well as mill protocols.Lastly, you will need to have the mindset that time really is money and if the machine is down then the priority is restoring production in the Safest and Fastest way possible.QualificationsExperience in Tig and Stick Welding (minimum 3 years) Maintenance and mechanical experience an assetFlexible and ability to adapt to changing needs of the operationFlexible to change jobs and varying job assignments, often dailyTraining and constant learning is required to support the businessStrong focus on quality, safety, and efficiencyStrong teamwork and communication skillsStrong mechanical background, a mustHigh school diploma or GED#revealyourpotential #LifeAtCascadesCascades believes in the success of an inclusive organization that values diversity within its team.
